In an attempt to escape the sticky July heat and maddening crowds of Barcelona, we jumped in the car and escaped to Vilassar de Mar for beers on the beach.

Get there: You can get to Vilassar de Mar in about 20/25 minutes on the train from Barcelona. It’s also a relatively easy drive along the coast if you have a rental car (around 5km or so).
