Christmas is a time for giving, a time for rejoicing. But it’s also become a time of great waste.
Along with the gifts we give comes an enormous amount of packaging, which ultimately ends up in landfill. In fact it’s estimated that we produce a whopping 30% percent more rubbish during Christmas than at other times of the year.
This is the reason why many people in the UK are turning to gifting experiences rather than physical presents this Christmas.
This is obviously music to our travel-loving ears, but it’s also good news for the landfill sites.
